High-endurance SSDs for mixed workloads

Samsung PM897 SSDs offer increased write endurance, making them ideal for mixed read/write workloads. Perfect for general purpose or dedicated cache tiers in hyper-converged infrastructure like VMware VSAN, logging applications, OLTP, database servers, and other legacy workloads with unknown write characteristics.

All SSDs in the PM897 lineup use the same Samsung controller and V-NAND flash memory, simplifying customer qualification and ensuring reliable high-volume supply.

SATA Interface Saturating Performance

Samsung PM897 SSDs deliver performance up to the maximum allowable for SATA-attached drives: up to 560 MB/sec sequential access. This ensures workloads complete as quickly as possible while maximizing performance per gigabyte of stored data.

Enterprise Power Loss Protection

PM897 SSDs include enterprise power loss protection (PLP). During normal shutdown, the host server preserves data integrity by transmitting standby commands to the SSD. In unexpected power loss, the SSD uses stored energy in PLP capacitors to flush cached data in DRAM to flash memory, preventing data loss.
