Details

Threat Prevention: Palo Alto Networks NGFWs incorporate threat prevention mechanisms that can detect and block a wide range of known and unknown threats. This includes malware, exploits, and command-and-control (C2) communications.

Application Visibility and Control: These firewalls offer granular visibility and control over network applications, allowing organizations to enforce policies based on application type, user, and content. This helps improve security and optimize network performance.

URL Filtering: Palo Alto Networks NGFWs can perform URL filtering to block access to malicious or inappropriate websites. This helps prevent users from accessing potentially harmful content and reduces the risk of malware infections.

Intrusion Prevention System (IPS): The NGFWs incorporate an IPS that can detect and prevent network-based attacks. It uses advanced techniques such as signature-based detection, anomaly detection, and behavioral analysis to identify and block malicious activities.

Enables SD-WAN Functionality
• Allows you to easily adopt SD-WAN by simply enabling it on your existing firewalls.
• Enables you to safely implement SD-WAN, which is natively integrated with our industry-leading
security.
• Delivers an exceptional end-user experience by minimizing latency, jitter, and packet loss.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Decryption: Palo Alto Networks NGFWs have the capability to decrypt SSL-encrypted traffic, inspect it for threats, and then re-encrypt it. This ensures that encrypted traffic is not used as a means to bypass security controls.

Centralized Management: Palo Alto Networks offers a centralized management platform called Panorama, which allows administrators to manage multiple NGFWs from a single pane of glass. This simplifies configuration, monitoring, and reporting across the network.

Detects and Prevents Advanced Threats with Cloud-Delivered Security Services

Today’s sophisticated cyberattacks can spawn 45,000 variants in 30 minutes using multiple threat vectors and advanced techniques to deliver malicious payloads. Traditional siloed security causes challenges for organizations by introducing security gaps, increasing overhead for security teams, and hindering business productivity with inconsistent access and visibility.

Seamlessly integrated with our industry-leading NGFWs, our Cloud-Delivered Security Services use the network effect of 80,000 customers to instantly coordinate intelligence and protect against all threats across all vectors. Eliminate coverage gaps across your locations and take advantage of best‑in-class security delivered consistently in a platform to stay safe from even the most advanced and evasive threats.

Consume our secure Prisma™ Access SD-WAN hub as a service, or build the hub and interconnect infrastructure yourself using our Next-Generation Firewalls.

Regardless of the deployment model, this tight integration allows you to manage security and SD-WAN on a single intuitive interface.

Dynamic Security Actions with Automated Enforcements

User access policies based on static directory information are simply not enough in today’s dynamic environment.

Network and security teams are tasked with providing correct access to users. But creating ad hoc rules to provide time-bound access to workers – and then ensuring these rules are removed once the business need is over – is manual, time-consuming and poses a security risk if the rules become over-provisioned.

In addition, the inability to dynamically change a user's access based on information about their behavior results in tedious operations and increased security risks.

With PAN-OS 9.1, you can enable Dynamic User Groups (DUG) and reap these benefits:

• Automatically include users as members without manually creating and committing policy or group changes.
• Still maintain user-to-data correlation at the device level before the firewall even scans the traffic.
• Configure and manage a single security policy to auto-remediate anomalous behavior and malicious activity while maintaining user visibility.

Enhanced Visibility and Troubleshooting for GlobalProtect Deployments

PAN-OS 9.1 provides greater visibility, rapid troubleshooting, and enhanced logging enhancements to help you monitor and rectify connection failures with your GlobalProtect™ deployments.

The logging enhancements are available for any Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall deployed as a GlobalProtect gateway or portal or in a Prisma Access mobile user deployment.
