The QFX10002 fixed-configuration switch is a very dense, highly scalable platform designed for today’s most demanding data center, campus, and routing environments. It’s loaded with power and functionality, all housed in a compact, 2 U form factor.

Using our custom Q5 ASICs, the QFX10002 features a deep buffer with Hybrid Memory Cube (HMC) to absorb network traffic spikes and reduce application latency. It supports 10GbE, 40GbE, and 100GbE interfaces in the same platform, providing the flexibility to transition to greater network capacity as traffic demands increase.

Details

The Juniper Networks QFX10002 is a high-performance, feature-rich, and versatile data center switch designed to meet the ever-evolving demands of modern networking infrastructures. With a focus on scalability, flexibility, and reliability, the QFX10002 is a key player in the QFX Series of switches, tailored to address the challenges of data centers and provide a robust foundation for the deployment of advanced applications and services. This switch is packed with a wide range of cutting-edge features, making it an ideal choice for organizations looking to enhance their network infrastructure while maintaining high levels of agility and efficiency.

At the heart of the QFX10002 lies its impressive switching capacity, which enables it to handle the most demanding workloads. With a non-blocking architecture and support for up to 96 100GbE or 24 400GbE ports, it delivers unparalleled performance and throughput. This exceptional capacity makes the QFX10002 suitable for both traditional data centers and those with more modern, high-density, and high-speed requirements. This switch is a versatile workhorse, whether you're consolidating your network architecture or preparing for the future's data center challenges.

One of the standout features of the QFX10002 is its support for high-density 400GbE interfaces. This capability is critical for data centers that require maximum bandwidth to handle data-intensive workloads, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data analytics. With 24 400GbE ports, the QFX10002 provides the necessary connectivity and capacity to handle these workloads with ease. It also has the flexibility to support various combinations of interfaces, including 100GbE and 400GbE, giving network architects the freedom to design their networks to meet specific performance and cost requirements.

The QFX10002 offers exceptional flexibility in terms of port configuration and speeds. It's designed to be adaptable to a wide range of network scenarios. With the capability to support a mix of 100GbE and 400GbE ports, this switch can accommodate different network requirements within a single chassis. Whether you need high-speed connectivity for spine and leaf architectures, top-of-rack deployments, or a combination of both, the QFX10002 can be tailored to your needs. This flexibility allows organizations to optimize their network resources while simplifying operations.

In addition to its raw performance and flexibility, the QFX10002 is equipped with a variety of features and technologies to ensure the reliability and security of your network. The switch employs Juniper Networks' Junos operating system, which is known for its robustness and ease of use. Junos provides a consistent and highly scalable foundation for the entire Juniper Networks portfolio, making it easier to manage and operate network infrastructures efficiently.

One of the significant advantages of the QFX10002 is its support for EVPN (Ethernet VPN) and VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN) technologies. These technologies are fundamental for building modern data center networks that can efficiently handle virtualization, cloud computing, and multi-tenancy. EVPN simplifies the management of Layer 2 and Layer 3 services while enhancing scalability and flexibility, making it an ideal choice for cloud providers and enterprises with complex network requirements. VXLAN, on the other hand, allows for the creation of overlay networks that can span across physical network infrastructures, enabling efficient network segmentation and isolation for different applications and tenants.
